Summary

This order declares a national emergency over violence and instability in South Sudan and directs the United States government to respond.

It blocks all property and interests in property of people and groups responsible for actions that threaten peace, commit human rights abuses, recruit child soldiers, attack peacekeepers, or obstruct humanitarian aid. The order also prohibits donations and transactions with listed persons and suspends their entry into the United States.

The Treasury Department, in consultation with the State Department, is authorized to issue rules and agencies must take measures to enforce these sanctions.
