Continuing the President's National Council for the American Worker and the American Workforce Policy Advisory Board

workforce developmentfederal advisory boardsexecutive branch operations

Signed by President Donald Trump

Extends the President's National Council for the American Worker and its affiliated advisory board through September 30, 2021, by amending the 2018 executive order that created them.

What this order does

What it orders

The order extends two workforce-policy bodies — the President's National Council for the American Worker and the American Workforce Policy Advisory Board — both of which were established by Executive Order 13845 in July 2018. It does so by amending the termination clause of that earlier order, resetting the Council's expiration date to September 30, 2021, subject to further extension by the President.

The order makes no structural or policy changes to either body. It does not alter their membership, mandate, or authorities; it simply prevents them from lapsing at their prior expiration date.

Who it affects

Members of the President's National Council for the American Worker and the American Workforce Policy Advisory Board, as well as federal agencies and private-sector participants whose workforce-policy work runs through those bodies.

Why it matters

Without this extension, both the Council and the Advisory Board would have automatically dissolved at their earlier expiration date. Federal agencies and private-sector partners engaged in workforce initiatives through these bodies can continue that work through September 2021.
